Labour MP Eric Joyce’s troubles just got a whole lot worst, 'secret affair' with teenage researcher, age 17, who was still at School, career meltdown

Dear All

Things have taken a distinct turn for the terminal for Labour MP Eric Joyce.

Allegedly he had a secret affair with a schoolgirl election helper.

When people enter politics, they are expected when elected to obey certain standards, standards which are above those generally expected by the public.

This is the price of elected office, doing the right thing and saying the right thing and important do no harm.

When Eric Joyce threw the first punch in the House of Commons brawl, it wasn’t just a punch; it was him ending his career.

Once a high flyer, his political career has crashed landed with a mighty explosion over the latest incident to reach the public domain!

His Labour Party career is officially finished after furious party chiefs found out about his ‘schoolie’ romance Meg Lauder, now 19.

She helped out in his 2010 general election campaign.

Scottish Labour leader Johann Lamont said last night:

“This is a man who has abused his position of power and authority. I’m disgusted, regardless of any other issues. I think this makes Eric Joyce unfit to stand for the Labour Party.”

Joyce is a father of two children himself, and is separated from second wife Rosemary.

The age gap between Joyce and Ms. Lauder is 32 years, which proves there is no fool like an old fool if true.

A senior party source said last night:

“Joyce does not have a snowball’s chance in hell of representing Labour again. There may be those who argue that he should retain the right to be innocent until proven guilty. But any repercussions of the Strangers Bar episode notwithstanding, what’s now emerged is not the kind of behaviour that would be expected or tolerated from an MP or Labour Party member.”

The Labour Party has a history of burying their problems by expulsion; however, I don’t see Eric Joyce resigning as an MP for Falkirk.

There will be no by-election; Joyce has nothing to gain and everything to lose.

And Joyce still has his court appearance to look forward to; the latest episode was extremely bad judgment on his part.

And sensing ‘blood in the water’, political parties maybe circling like sharks to put pressure on him to resign, for their vested interests, not the public’s.

Meg’s MySpace website says she is an aspiring comedy writer, and lists satirists Chris Morris and Armando Ianucci, and Father Ted writer Graham Linehan among her “influences”.

Well, there is certainly a comedy lurking in this episode, dark comedy with eerie musik, set at Westminster and Falkirk, with a Eric Joyce type character playing a guy who chases the ‘burds’ week in week out dressed as Indiana Jones figure complete with hat, pistol and whip.

No chains please we’re British!

Yours sincerely
