Labour Councillor Aileen Colleran quits as Business Manager and Whip at Labour Council of shame, 'free dinners' Matheson in crisis already

Dear All

As Gordon ‘free dinners’ Matheson takes over the mantle left by Steven ‘bin laden’ Purcell trouble erupts.

One of Glasgow’s highest profile Labour councillors has quit.

Aileen Colleran is the Labour administration’s business manager and whip at the Labour Council of shame.

She says her position was now untenable as she had given her full backing to rival candidate Paul Rooney.

In her role as business manager and whip, she was the person responsible for holding the ragbag collection of chancers together.

Now, she is off at Plumpton, as she moves to the backbenches, saying she might seek employment elsewhere, she faces a drop in salary.

So, she is the first to go but will she be the last?

How deep is the schism in the Labour Council of shame?

One thing to ‘free dinners’ Matheson’s credit is that he fixed a wrong.

Under Steven ‘bin laden’ Purcell, Labour Councillor Jim McNally was shabbily treated; you can read my opinion on that;

McNally becomes city treasurer, the post vacated by Matheson which McNally has coveted for some time.

In upping sticks Aileen Colleran said;

“I’m quite capable of getting a job outside of the council and would be happy to become a backbencher. My post is a job no one really wants but it will be interesting to see what appointments Gordon makes.”

There maybe trouble ahead!

With the Labour Group at the Labour Council of shame not known for being talented, this puts pressure on ‘free dinners’ Matheson not to have a purge.

That still leaves deep divisions which will fester.

Expect more trouble soon as Labour fight among themselves for appointments.

Yours sincerely
